NEW!… I’ve had lots of requests to write up my popular Mikki Simple Rib Hat for ARAN / US WORSTED yarns… here it is for you!

This simple rib hat is a great basic for everyone’s winter wardrobe…. baby, boys, girls, teens, men and women!
Turn up the rib for a fitted hat with a double layer cuff, or wear it unfolded and tall for a young contemporary look.

A simple knit is perfect project for new knitters, and a relaxing knit for experienced knitters!

Choose ANY ARAN / US WORSTED yarn that recommends 5mm (US8) needles with a stocking/stockinette tension of 18 stitches, 24 rows to 10cm/4”

AS THIS HAT IS KNITTED IN RIB YOU WILL GO DOWN A NEEDLE SIZE TO KNIT THIS HAT. This smaller needle size will give you a neat rib with elasticity and memory (it will bounce back).
The hats sizes are written using the tension of this smaller needle.

The Mikki ARANI ribbed hats shown here have been knitted in Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran (available to purchase via yarn.com USA / lovecrafts.com UK) and Milla Mia Naturally Soft Merino Aran

Separate detailed instructions are included to knit this hat either
FLAT ON A PAIR OF SINGLE POINTED needles
/ or IN THE ROUND

Detailed row-by-row instructions for each size make this pattern super easy!

If you are printing this pattern, just can just print out the size you are knitting along with the ‘All Sizes’ pages. All pages are clearly numbered and indexed.

0-3 months (3-6 months, 6-12 months, 1-2 years, 3-5 years, 6-9 years, 10-12 years, Teen/Adult S, Adult M/L)

You will need:
50 (55, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110, 120) gm - Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran
1 pair of 4mm (US6) single pointed needles / or DPNs
Darning/tapestry needle (for flat and seamed version)

When ordering alternative Aran yarns /US Worsted yarns use the following yards / metres

98 (108, 118, 138, 158, 178, 196, 216, 236) Yards
90( 99, 108, 126, 144, 162, 180, 198, 216) Metres

Tension/ Worked in k2, p2 rib (with the smaller 4mm /US6 needle size used in this pattern)
Flat/un-stretched
35 sts = 10cms/4 inches
27 rows = 10cms/4 inches
