The pattern is written using US crochet terminology.
The pattern was fully tested and tech edited.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate. The texture of the shawl is achieved mainly through front and back post stitches, variations of crossed double crochet stitches and cluster stitches.

YARN: #4 Medium Worsted Weight, Aran.
USED HERE: Sirdar Hayfield Bonus Aran Tweed, 624 Chestnut Tweed, 2 skeins, 1280m (1400yds).

HOOK: 6 mm US J-10 crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.

GAUGE: 4 pattern repeats (12 sts) x 10 rows = 10 cm (4’’) before blocking.

CONSTRUCTION: The shawl is worked lengthwise, flat, in rows, with pockets attached later. The border is worked in the ends of the rows at both sides of the shawl.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Before blocking shawl is approximately: 41 cm / 16.1’’ wide and 174 cm / 68.5’’ long.
