The Milano Balaclava is a button-up balaclava, which the face opening is adjustable. The balaclava is worked top down. First, the top of the head is worked back and forth. Then, stitches are picked up along the side edges and increases are worked to shape the head. Next, it is worked even to the neck. Finally, the button band and button holes are worked simultaneously in double knitting.

The Milano Balaclava requires the following techniques: tubular cast on, knit and purl stitches, increases (M1L, M1R, M1pL, M1pR), double knitting and tubular bind off.
