Overlay Mosaic Crochet CAL

The price listed includes a special 25% introductory discount.
From 12th October, this will increase to GBP 7.95

Until 30th November, members of my fb group Rosina Crochets will find a coupon code to get the sister CAL, Lakenham Mosaic Sampler free with their purchase of Mile Cross Mosaic Sampler, so you may want to pop over there before you purchase … then just add both patterns to your cart, and pop the coupon code in the box before you check out xx

Please note, Mile Cross Sampler is a CAL (Crochet ALong), so you will not receive the whole pattern all at once.

All the information you need to get prepared (yarn details, abbreviations, gauge swatch etc) is included in the Introduction file, and the remainder of the pattern will be released in 5 parts starting Friday, 13th September 2024.

Note: to ensure you get all future parts directly to your library, please make sure you are logged in on Ravelry before you make your purchase xx

Inspired by Cross Stitch samplers, Mile Cross is a 5-part CAL, worked using overlay mosaic crochet, from centre out.
It does not require any special stitches, nor mid-round colour changes, making it ideal for all levels of expertise, including beginners to mosaic crochet.

If you are unfamiliar with mosaic crochet don’t worry, it is much easier to do than it looks, and step by step instructions are given.
You will only be using 1 colour for each round.

Colour packs are available for a full size blanket (125cm), and for a 70cm baby blanket, but you can stop after virtually any chart if you feel your blanket is big enough … and I have also included basic instructions for extending the blanket by repeating selected charts.

Supporting videos for the gauge swatch and chart 7 (which includes 3-row overlay mosaic crochet) will also be provided on my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/RosinaCrochets.

The video for the gauge swatch is already available, and the one for chart 7 will be added to coincide with the official release of part 4 of the CAL, on 4th October 2024.

Lefthander-friendly
For any non-symmetrical sections I will either provide a separate lefthanded chart, so it matches the written instructions (this will create a mirror-image of the design), or provide separate written instructions (where letters / numbers are included).
There will also be lefthanded versions for the videos.

Release Dates for the CAL
Each part includes a clear chart and a detailed photo tutorial / written instructions, and will be available to download from your Ravelry library by 11:00 UK time on the relevant day.
Note: please remember to ‘update’ the pattern in your library if you can’t see the new part.

Introduction - available now
Part 1 – available now
Part 2 – Friday, 20th September 2024
Part 3 – Friday, 27th September 2024
Part 4 – Friday, 4th October 2024
Part 5 – Friday, 11th October 2024

On 18th October, I will delete all of the individual parts and replace them with a single file containing the complete pattern.

If you would like the complete pattern earlier than this, I will be adding it to my Etsy and Love Crafts stores on 13th September 2024 (these complete patterns will not be discounted at all though).

To simplify the abbreviations, and avoid the need for separate UK and US versions, the pattern is written in my ’Universal’ terms (I developed these terms for the Jacquard Temperature Blanket and have also used them in all my subsequent overlay mosaic crochet CALs and patterns).

If you want to find out more about my Universal terms, please see this short video https://youtu.be/IsubXOfEuVw

Dutch translations will also be provided, courtesy of my dear friend, Caroline Tigchelaar.
