The Milestones Shawl
I named this creation the Milestones Shawl because, for me, it’s a milestone. Believe it or not, this is the first shawl I’ve ever designed! I have no good reason for why I waited this long since I’ve designed many bandana cowls. Bandana cowls are basically just shawls joined at the back of the neck.
However as soon as I received this yarn, I knew what it wanted to be. Immediately, I set out to create a stitch pattern that would show off the yarn’s true beauty. The subsequent light weight and lacy texture make this a wonderful summer shawl. Maybe this can be your first shawl as well.
Finished Sizes:
Instructions given to make a 52” W x 29” H shawl (after blocking) with added notes for making a larger shawl.
Materials:
I used Zen Yarn Garden Superfine Fingering, which is a 90% superfine superwash merino/10% nylon, #2 Fingering weight yarn.
Any yarn of similar weight would work.
Approximately 800 yds.
4.5mm Hook
Stitch Markers
Yarn Needle
Scissors
