Milford Junction Socks
Welcome to The Film Sock Society in which we will celebrate our love for sock knitting and films.
This is the second volume in the Sock Society series, a collection featuring three different new sock patterns inspired by three of my favorite characters in cinema: Miss Kenton (The Remains of the Day), Sally Albright (When Harry Met Sally), and Laura Jesson (Brief Encounter).
I hope you enjoy creating cozy socks from these patterns, and perhaps feel tempted to watch the films if you haven’t yet. Happy knitting! From January 2nd 2025, I will be hosting a knit-a-long on my Ravelry forum. Please, join us!
Milford Junction Socks
The second design of the collection is a classic, vintage-looking fair isle pair of socks, named after the train station in which Laura Jesson and Dr Harvey meet in Brief Encounter. Worked in two colors but equally sweet in three (try to work the heel, toe and cuff in a third contrast color!), the small, classic fair isle motive is perfect to try your hand at stranded colorwork in small circumferences (I find a pair of DPNs are a great help when working colorwork socks! Give them a try!).
