A little bit of milk and a whole lot of honey! The Milk and Honey Shawlette or Scarf is a simple, quick-to-knit, one-skein project. It is a deep crescent shape that drapes nicely around the shoulders. Knit from the bottom up, the border features 69 pretty lace bumble bees, and the border graduates into a simple short row garter stitch body. I choose to knit it in Lorna’s Laces Honor Yarn which is a cream and honey color variegated yarn that is a blend of soft Baby Alpaca and Silk. It has 275 yards on the skein and is DK in weight. After blocking, my shawlette it ended up measuring 56” long and 10” at its widest center point. The instructions are in written format only since it is easier to understand the lace pattern in written format, and the short rows after being set up are simply worked from place marker to place marker. Definitely a weekend knit, and since it is lightweight and summer-themed, it is perfect for the warmer months!
