MilkCan is a scrunchie pattern with NO sweetness. Traditional scrunches have abundant ruffles and frills and can be considered girlish. MilkCan, on the contrary, with its modern shape, can be worn stylishly by those who have no taste for this type of style.
This design is characterized by the perfect balance between the straight lines and curves, as modern architecture. Despite its minimum ruffles (for elasticity), it doesn’t stay planar. The structure looks very simple, yet once elasticated, it takes a very modern form. Please look at its transformation.

MilkCan パターンは、甘さを削ぎ落としたデザインのシュシュです。従来のシュシュとは、たっぷりのギャザーとフリルが印象的なアイテムですが、そんなガーリーテイストが苦手な方でもお洒落に決まる、モダンな形のシュシュを考案しました。

ディテールのポイントは、ゴムを通した時の直線と曲線の分量が、まるでモダニズム建築のように絶妙なバランスであること。また、ギャザー量 (伸縮性) を必要最低限にとどめながらも平面的にはならないこと。パターンにすると単純な構造ですが、仕上げにゴムを入れた時に、モダンなフォルムに変化します。その様子にもぜひ注目してみてください。

80 cm 32” or longer circular needle in size suitable for preferred yarn (magic loop used)

Gauge

Check stitch gauge over 5 cm 2” in Stockinette stitch with preferred yarn

Samples 1 & 2: 13.5 sts = 5 cm 2” in Stockinette stitch with US 1½ (2.5 mm) needle

Sample 3: 11 sts = 5 cm 2” in Stockinette stitch with US 6 (4.0 mm)
