The Milkshake Tank Top is simple yet stylish with a reversible design and garter stitch detailing at the sides and edges!

The front/back feature some vertical intarsia to create two different coloured halves but can be worked in just one colour if you aren’t comfortable with intarsia. If you do choose to use intarsia this is great as a stash busting project if you’ve got yarn left over that’s not quite enough for an entire top but is enough for 1/4 of one!

The Milkshake Tank is worked flat from the bottom up in two identical panels (front/back). The shoulders are joined using a three needle bind off, then the sides are seamed together. This top knits up quickly and is a great introduction to intarsia if you haven’t tried it before! Useful links to help with new techniques are included.

This pattern is written for 12 sizes ranging from a 66 cm (26 inch) to 159 cm (62.5 inch) chest, and is colour coded throughout for clarity. For more details see the size chart provided. The length is completely adjustable so you can make this as long or cropped as you like - details on how to make adjustments are included in the pattern.

Materials:
5mm needles (or size required to achieve correct tension)
A third needle for three needle bind off
2-4 stitch holders or scrap yarn
0-3 stitch markers
Tapestry needle

Yarn: Aran or worsted weight yarn (I used Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran when designing this top). Any yarn with which you can achieve the correct tension should work. For approximate yardages see the size chart provided. I’ve included yardage approximations for two different lengths so you can best estimate how much yarn is required for the length of the garment you would like to make.

Tension: 15.5 sts and 27.5 rows to 10 cm (4 in) over stocking stitch on 5 mm needles (or size required to give correct tension) after blocking.
