Welcome to Milky Way shirt.

I always loved this star stitch and I am so happy to share with you this beauty.
This shirt is knitted from the bottom up, a contraction chosen to complement the stitch pattern. You’ll knit up to the armholes, at which point the shirt is divided into three pieces : the front left panel, the back panel, and the front right panel. After sharing the shoulders and completing the back panel, each shoulder is worked separately. The shoulder line piece is then connected to the front and back panel shoulders using mattress stitch.
The sleeves stitches are picked up afterwards and knitted to your desired length. Finally, the button band is knitted and the slash pockets are sewn onto the shirt purely for decorative purposes.

Gauge
25 sts x 25 rows in star stich = 10cm in double Silke mohair with 4mm needles.
21 sts x 25 rows in stockinette = 10cm in contrast colour for the hem and button band
Both gauge is very important for this project.

3,75mm for the button band
4mm for the body and sleeves
