Million Dollar Shawl
In Australia, the predominant weight of yarn is DK, and when you go to work up a shawl pattern you like, you end up with something more scarf sized unless you are willing to “adapt” the pattern.
I wanted to make a shawl in DK weight that wrapped around me (I’m a bit “fluffy” lol) and reached further than my bra strap, so I started working on this. I wanted variety (because I get bored) and I wanted texture.
Originally I started this with a variegated yarn, but as I watched the colours play across the rows, I knew I wanted to make one with several solid colours. One of my testers made it in all one colour, and it still looked fabulous.
I would like to thank my testers, this has been quite a journey for us all, and you have all worked exceedingly hard, been patient with me when I was ill or caught up with family, and been so supportive and encouraging that I could not fail!!
I hope you enjoy making this shawl, and I hope it makes you feel like a million dollars - because it makes me feel so happy, and I’d like to share that feeling with you. <3

Now available - a single page PDF document listing where I made my colour changes on my original shawl as an optional additional download.
