The colours in this hat remind me of the colourful wrappers found in a tin of Quality Street milseáin that are to be found in every house in Ireland at Christmas. This is a pixie type hat with ear flaps suitable for a child. I used two types of yarn, one of which I had spun myself but any chunky yarn could be easily substituted; the other is a multi-coloured “Art yarn” from Tivoli. The hat uses about 35 metres of each. The hat looks equally as good on the inside (reverse stocking stitch) and could be worn either side out!
