Milva socks are knit from top-cuff-down, seamlessly in the round with a fleegle heel which means no holes to deal with. The stitches for the gusset are added in the middle of the back. The wedge created in this way perfectly fits the heel and looks pretty and original. The back of the sock made in plain stockinette stitch is the perfect background for the rich and baroque botanical pattern on the front of the sock.

The socks were designed to be worn with at least 2.5 cm / 1 “ of negative ease in width. Measure your foot circumference at the widest point, behind the toes. Remember that the sock stretches out also in length so make it about 1.5 – 2.5 cm / 0.75 – 1 “ shorter than your foot’s length. Due to the fact that the gusset and heel have a constant number of rounds, the sock should be shortened in the FOOT part.

Yarn
1 skein of Slavica Yarns Domovik ( 75% Wool - Merino, 25% Nylon / Polyamide; 425m / 465y per 100g ) or about { 260, 280, 300 } m / { 285, 305, 330 } y of any other fingering weight yarn. Sample shown in “Medeine” colorway.
Note: The yardage is estimated and depends on sock length.

Needles
2.25 mm ( US #1 ) circular needles for magic loop or DPNS, or size needed to get the right gauge.

Gauge
34 sts and 48 rounds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 “ - in stockinette stitch pattern worked in the round with 2.25 mm ( US #1 ) needles, after wet blocking.
Note: Adjust needle size if necessary to get given gauge.
