Construction
The Mimi Wrap is worked top down with 4 mm needles, in garter stitch, with an I-cord edge on the fronts. You will start by working the top of the body flat, with increases for the Raglan shaping and for the front neckline, then you will divided your work in 3 parts to work the bottom of the body, and the sleeves separately. The sleeves are knitted in the round with the Magic Loop technique. The Mimi Wrap is closed by two I-cord cords, the longest of which is passed through a small buttonhole made on the left side of the body.

Pattern content
To follow the different steps of this pattern, I’ve included a checklist for each size: don’t hesitate to print it and cross the boxes as you go to keep track of your progress.

Shape and sizes
Sizes Newborn (3, 6, 12, 18, 24) months are suited for an approximate bust size of 38 (40,5, 43, 45,5, 48, 50,5) cm. These sizes are based on standards and may vary considerably from one child to the other. Each size might be suitable for different ages. If you are hesitating between two sizes, it’s probably best to choose the largest one: thanks to the i-cord cords Mimi Wraps adjusts well to different body shapes, and the sleeves can be worn rolled up.

YOU WILL NEED
• 100 (110, 130, 160, 190, 230)* g of Baby Alpaga - 50 g/112 m from We are knitters sizes birth (3 - 6 - 12 - 18 - 24)
• 4 mm circular knitting needles, cable 80 cm or more (optional, 4 mm double pointed needles for the sleeves
• 4 stitch markers
• 1 tapestry needle, scissors, pins and a flat surface to block your knitting

Sample
Start by knitting a sample to check that your tension matches the one indicated in the pattern (after blocking it), 18 stitches x 33 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm (or 4” x 4”). If you don’t obtain the same gauge, try out other needle sizes, until you get the right swatch (if you need more/less stitches or rows for 10 cm 4”, you’ll need to use bigger/smaller needles). You can work the sample in flat knitting, but make sure to use the same circular needles as you will use to knit the pattern.
