This is a good first short row project. Not too many stitches to deal with and all in garter stitch. It’s also a perfect pattern for trying out a self-striping yarn to accent the diagonal lines of the triangles as you build the scarf. The scarf pictured was knit by a friend. She and I spent three days, each knitting the scarf, with many revisions (verbal and printed) of the pattern instructions in the attempt to make them as understandable as possible. It’s a relatively easy to knit pattern but we went through a lot of mental gymnastics trying to get that wording just right. That’s how it got the name Mind Bender Scarf. Hopefully we got it right. Please send me a message if you get stuck. This was the first time for both of us working with these triangles so by no means will I be offended by an inquiry. We were both really pleased with our finished scarf.

The “fringes” were made by cutting 3 - 18-20” strands of yarn for each corner. Fold the strands in half and attach as you would any fringe by pulling the loop through the corner of the scarf. Pull the tails through the loop and snug it up. Braid tightly using 3 groups of two strands. When the braid is the length you want tie a knot at the end of it. Trim the loose ends to length.
