If you’ve visited the coast recently you have probably seen sneaky seagulls stealing food from unsuspecting tourists, swooping down to snatch a french fry or sandwich. They are brazen but so funny to watch. Every time I watch them I think of the iconic scene from Disney’s Finding Nemo, with the seagulls calling out, ‘Mine! Mine!’

These socks were designed as a complementary accessory to the Mine! Cowl. These socks are knit cuff down, increasing stitches and changing needle size for the colourwork on the leg to accommodate the less stretchy fabric of stranded knitting.
Included at the end of the pattern are black and white charts.

This pattern has two different chart choices. The first chart is a seagull in profile with the word Mine beside him, fish and crab swimming about his feet. The second chart is a seagull facing you (perhaps eyeing your snack!) with fish and crab swimming about his feet. Make a matching pair or one of each for a fun mismatched pair. Or, knit one chart on one side and the other on the other side. You can choose to duplicate stitch for he beaks. They are so fun to knit!
