Minerva
A bottom up triangular shawl.
Written instructions only.
The lace section is started first, and the stitches for the stockinette portion gradually become less and less as the shawl progresses.
The stitches in the lace section between ( and ) are worked five times for each side of the marker, although the instructions do highlight how many sts should be left before the marker and the end of the row.
This is an intermediate skill shawl, as you will need some knowledge of lace knitting, although, as you knit the lace edging, the pattern soon becomes apparent.
My finished shawl measures: 158 cm wide x 69 cm deep (62 inches x 27 inches)
Pattern, as shown, was knit in “Rooster Almerino DK”, and I used just under 4 balls of the yarn - roughly 390 m
Please note that this pattern has not been test knit - any problems, just let me know!
THERE IS A PROBLEM!! I have been unknowingly purling my stitches the wrong way for about 30 years! So, to get the same result as the original shawl, you will need to twist your purl stitches by throwing the yarn under rather than over your stitch! Sorry for any confusion/errors to your knitting that may have occurred!
