I think this Tunic is perfect to wear with jeans or leggings. You can make it with wool or to make lighter summer version, use cotton yarn. Works also as a cover up over the bikinis on the beach!
Includes modification to make sleeveless dress.
Skill level: (EASY), INTERMEDIATE
You should know the basic stiches: chain stitch, single crochet, slip stitch, double crochet. All the other sticthes used in the pattern are explained.
This pattern is written in standard American terms and includes lot of photos of the process.
Materials For the Dress without sleeves:
Yarn: 250(300,350,400)g / 8.8(10.5,12.3,14.1)oz of DK (3, light worsted) or Aran (4, worsted) weight yarn. 600(720,840,960) meters or 655(786,917,1048) yds.
Crochet hook: 7mm/K/10.5 (or any size to obtain the gauge, explained below).
Materials For the Tunic:
Yarn: 400(500,600,700)g/14.1(17.6,21.2,24.7)oz of DK (3, light worsted) or Aran (4, worsted) weight yarn. I have also made one short sweater with Bulky (5, chunky) weight yarn (Katia Maxi Merino and Mondial Bio Soft).
Crochet hook: 7mm/K/10.5 (or any size to obtain the gauge, explained below) and for ribbings 4.5mm/7.
Gauge:
With 7mm/K/10.5 crochet hook in wave pattern (picture below). Work: 4,5 wave stitches (1sc,2dc) and 8 rows, this piece measures approximately 10cmX10cm (4”x 4”). Check your gauge and use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
