Mingled Motifs cushion cover
This is a pattern to crochet a cushion cover using the popular mosaic overlay technique. The design features three motifs whose forms appear in their varied guises spanning many centuries, cultures and spiritual traditions: spirals, endless / never ending knots and concentric squares.
You can download the pattern in PDF form. After payment, you will have access to two downloadable PDF documents. One is written in US terminology and the other in UK.
The pattern is 21 pages long with helpful tips and colour photographs to assist. You do not need to be able to read charts to use this pattern, each row is fully written out in English. Charts fully marked up with Xs are provided for those who prefer them.
Many customers have told me even though they had never worked on a mosaic overlay pattern before, they have found my format easy to follow. If you can chain and do the basic stitches, you should have no problem with making this item.
You will need six 50g balls of Scheepjes Stone Washed Cotton/Acrylic yarn (three in each colour) but any comparable Sport Weight (5-ply) yarn could be substituted. Using Sport Weight yarn and a 3.5mm hook, the cushion comes out at around 15 in/39 cm square measured flat after joining. The photographed cushion has been filled with a 16 in/40.5 cm cushion insert to make it look nice and full.
A typical hook to use is 3.5mm (E-4).
