Mingled Motifs Knot blanket
This is a pattern to crochet your own Mingled Motifs blanket which is covered in geometric spirals, everlasting knots and concentric squares.
After payment you will have access to two PDF files, one is written in UK terminology and the second is written in US terminology. It is 27 pages long and in full colour with photo tutorials comprising no fewer than 39 instructional photographs walking you through everything. The pattern is written in English.
The pattern caters for the following widths of blanket 40 in, (59 in, 78 in) / 101 cm (150 cm, 198 cm). Length as desired. The blanket photographed is 40 in x 52 in (101 cm x 132 cm) and crocheted in Red Heart Super Saver and Prints ranges of yarn but any Worsted weight (Aran) yarn may be substituted. To make the blanket shown a total of 8 skeins was used in three different colours.
Mosaic overlay technique is used throughout the body of the blanket. Two colours are alternated, one colour per row. A full explanation of how to work the stitches is contained within the pattern but visual learners may wish to familiarise themselves with these two stitches in advance of purchase by viewing them on one of the many videos available on YouTube.
The pattern also includes a detailed tutorial on how to make the double border shown on the blanket. The border tidies up all the yarn tails left over at the end of the work so there are only five ends to sew in even though I’ve used so many colours!
A chart is provided (with ‘x’s) for experienced crocheters but you do not have to read charts to make this blanket, every row is written out in full as well.
The only stitches which may not be familiar to are:
UK:
dc-blo double crochet back loop only
tr-flo treble crochet front loop only
USA:
sc-blo single crochet back loop only
dc-flo double crochet front loop only
If you are a beginner with a little experience, the technique is easy to learn and I am always available by e-mail to help, just message me. I don’t do videos for my patterns but the included photographic tutorials are very comprehensive.
A typical hook to use is 5mm (H). Depending on yarn thickness, you may have to adjust hook size to achieve the correct gauge.
