Using the suggested materials, this crochet pattern will guide you through the process of creating a functional, toy sized backpack, which is approximately 4.5-5.5cm’s wide (with drawstring pulled/unpulled) and 5cm tall, not including the handle.

I also provide size information for a bag made with thicker and thinner yarn/hook combinations

♦What you’ll get:

A Digital crochet pattern in PDF format - 19 pages long, with high resolution, full colour images and links to supporting tutorial videos on my own YouTube channel.

A printer friendly version of the PDF, which does not include any images or links.

♦What is NOT included:

The frog pattern - that pattern was written by Claire Garland of dotpebblesknits and is available here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1160794362/frog-knitting-...

Instructions for the knitted hoodie - you can find that in my shop, here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1500583019/knitting-patte...

♦ Included in this pattern:

Instructions for a functional, crochet mini backpack with drawstring closure and button flap that will fit a toy of approximately 15-16cm in height.

♦ Lots of how-to images for each step, to help guide you through the process.

♦ guidance for working with thicker or thinner yarns and larger/smaller hooks to achieve a larger or smaller bag as required.

♦ Video links to my YouTube tutorials that support the written explanations for all techniques including magic circle, working into the back loops, working around a chain and the invisible finish.

♦Options and suggestions for various drawstrings and fastenings

♦Materials list:

• 4ply 100% cotton yarn / yarn suitable for 2.00mm - 3.50mm hook. I have used yarn and colours must haves in the shade “pepper”

• A 2mm crochet hook or hook that suits your tension

• Stitch marker - I recommend the plastic or metal kind for ease when working the base of the bag, as you’ll need to move it several times.

• Tapestry needle with a blunt tip for finishing and weaving in ends

• Scissors

• optional: Button or velcro - to close your bag, in lieu of the crochet button that I have given instructions for.

Cord or string to act as the drawstring - I provide instructions for two kinds of drawstring using the same yarn as the bag or slightly thinner thread, but you can use any kind of cord you wish.
