These beckoning cats are designed to be used as keyrings or small freestanding decorations, and have multiple options for finishing touches and customisation.
Gauge not critical, though finished fabric needs to be dense enough to not let stuffing show through.
The cats were designed and made with 4 ply/Fingering weight yarn and 1.5 - 2mm needles, though could be made with other yarn weights and different needle sizes. In my experience, wool/natural fibres/blends with inherent elasticity provide better results in general than synthetic yarns.
They don’t take too much yarn so could be made with scraps and leftovers, though multiple solid colours are required. The little kimonos could be made with variegated or self striping yarns, as many real kimonos have beautiful patterns.
