ABOUT THE PATTERN
The pattern starts at the head and works towards the bottom, creating the stripes using colour changes. The wings are crocheted separately and a little sewing is required to attach the wings to the body. I’ve provided options for either safety eyes or embroidered eyes. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, Buzzy Bee reaches a length of approximately 6cm. I’d love to see your completed projects; feel free to share them by tagging me on Instagram @dreamweave.creations or visiting my Facebook page, DreamWeave Creations.
SKILL LEVEL
I have assigned a beginner skill level to this pattern. While the majority of it involves simple stitches, there are a few colour changes to create the stripes and a little sewing to attach the wings.
MATERIALS NEEDED
Chosen yarn in desired colours. The following yarns in DK weight have been used in the pattern:
yellow for body
black for stripes
White for wings
If you are opting for embroidered eyes, you will also need a tiny amount of black embroidery thread or yarn.
2.5mm crochet hook
6mm safety eyes if not opting for crocheted eyes
Toy stuffing
Scissors
Pins
Stitch markers
Tapestry needle
Feel free to explore variations by swapping out yarn and hook sizes to achieve a different outcome, and get creative with experimenting with various colours.
