Mini Christmas Stocking
These mini Christmas Stockings look adorable on your Christmas tree and make great gifts in their own right. I made them and filled them with jelly beans last christmas. They can also be used to wrap little precious gifts such as jewellery etc.
This is a fairly easy pattern and would suit a beginner who is ready to take on the next level of project that requires some shaping techniques and sewing up. This is perfect as the little stockings can be completed quite quickly.
Each finished stocking measures approx 3 inches across at the widest point and 5 inches long.
The little christmas themed decorations are crochet, but again reuire fairly basic crochet stitches.
THe yarn I used to develop this pattern was Debbi Stoller’s Alpaca Love and I would recommend it, because it is knitted on a slightly smaller needle than usual it gives a lovely firm fabric finish that won’t need lining to hold it’s contents confidently.
Obviously any aran weight yarn would work. This is a great pattern for using up your stash of part used yarn as each stocking only needs about half a ball of yarn or less.
