⚠ Please note: This listing is for a digital crochet pattern download only, not a physical toy. It is written in English only, using US terminology. ABOUT THE PATTERN
The pattern starts at the top of the head and works down, incorporating the arms using bobble stitch. The ‘skirt’ is crocheted directly onto the body. A little simple embroidery is required for the face. I’ve provided options for either safety eyes or embroidered eyes. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, Eggy Ghost reaches a height of approximately 6cm. I’d love to see your completed projects; feel free to share them by tagging me on Instagram @dreamweave.creations or visiting my Facebook page, DreamWeave Creations.
SKILL LEVEL
I have assigned a beginner skill level to this pattern. While it primarily involves simple stitches, a bit of embroidery is also required. You must be familiar with reading patterns and understanding the abbreviations and terminology. Additionally, you should be comfortable working into the back loop and front loop only.
MATERIALS NEEDED
Chosen yarn in desired colours. The following yarns in DK weight have been used in the pattern:
- White for body and skirt
You will also need the following embroidery thread or yarn - I used 6 strands of embroidery thread:
- Tiny amount of black for embroidering mouth (and eyes if opting for embroidered eyes)
- Tiny amount of red for embroidering tongue
Safety eyes, if not opting for embroidered eyes – the number and size depend on the face you are making (refer to the photographs in the ‘Face’ section for inspiration).
Toy stuffing
2.5mm crochet hook
Scissors
Pins
Stitch markers
Tapestry needle
Feel free to explore variations by swapping out yarn and hook sizes to achieve a different outcome, and get creative with experimenting with various colours.
