I knit these every year as favours for colleagues at work. I like to include their initial to personalise them, but you could knit them plain and keep a stash to hand out when the holidays roll around. These are knit toe-up but experienced knitters could engineer this for top down easily.

Knit in Red, White and Fluffy DK - each stocking takes very little yarn and could easily be done with scraps.
