This is a crochet pattern for a mini amigurumi kitty. I used polyester velvet yarn, but some of my testers made it with acrylic or blanket yarn. Size will vary depending on yarn and crochet hook size, but some of my testers also used different hook sizes and came up with varying sizes of turtles.

This project was designed to be as easy as possible--I wanted a kitty where I didn’t have to crochet the ears or legs or tail separately. Everything works directly into the pattern. The ears, legs, and tail work straight into the body.

For materials, I used:

Polyester velvet yarn gauge 5
5mm crochet hook
10mm safety eyes
10mm safety nose
Polyfil
Pipe cleaner (you could also use thin wire)
Stitch markers
Scissors
Yarn needle

These kitties work out to be about 2 inches long (not counting the tail). I didn’t get an exact measurement of how much yarn is needed, but it only used a little bit of yarn for one kitty. You could make multiple kitties with one skein of yarn. These little babies took me about half an hour to work up.
