This cowl is knit in the round with simple repeats. Its texture is enhanced by a twisted slip stich that is slipped and not worked for 3 rows before being knit back into the fabric again. That twisted slip stich being pulled up and over the neighboring color can really highlight those variegated yarn colorways.

The pattern is designed for no less than (2) colorways with a good degree of contrast. Though the pattern is written indicating only the Main Color (MC) and the Contrast Color (CC), you can substitute mini skeins or scrap yarns by following the detailed guidelines included in the pattern.
