Mini Sherman the Sheep
This pattern was originally published in Janurary 2014. It has now been redesigned and re-released! The PDF for the original design (see the last photo) is still included for original buyers.
Meet Mini Sherman; a sweet little sheep small enough to fit into the palms of your hand.
Mini Sherman is an advanced beginner-level pattern. Skills you will need include single crochet, slip stitches, half-double crochet, double crochet, increases, decreases, color changes, working in the top and bottom of a foundation chain, crocheting through both layers to finish, joining pieces together, and some seaming. Included is a step-by-step tutorial on how to sew up the “criss-cross” style legs used in this design.
He can be made in any yarn and hook combination you want. Just be certain that the fabric is firm enough that stuffing does not show through.
My Mini Sherman is made in Loops & Thread Sweet Snuggles Lite using two colors and bit of scrap yarn for the facial features.
- Color 1: Gray (60 yards)
- Color 2: Ice Green (40 yards)
The pattern is 9-pages long and has plenty of progress photos to help you along your way to making your own somewhat small sheep.
