This cowl is knit in colours from a set of mini-skeins. Alternatively, the whole cowl could be knit in a solid colour, or a skein of gradient yarn. The pattern begins with a provisional cast on, and a garter border with attached I-cord is completed as the garment is knit. A delicate wavy pattern is featured between the borders.

Lace pattern is charted and written out. The chart repeat is 6 rows.

This is an intermediate level project.

Materials
• Yarn:
o 1 mini-skein set of fingering weight yarn. The knit sample in this pattern was done in Smash Knits yarn (85% superwash merino, 15% nylon; 20 grams 72m/ 79 yds per mini-skein)
o Other yarn options: Any yarn of a comparable weight and tension could work well with this pattern. One skein of a solid colour, or a gradient skein would be great options. Other options include using handspun yarn, some personal stash-busting yarn, or fibre found from your own local fibre festival or favourite indie dyer.
• Approx. 1 metre or yard of scrap yarn (for provisional cast on)
• 4mm crochet hook (for provisional cast on)
• Tapestry needle, scissors
• Stitch markers
• 4mm (US 6), or needles that will match your yarn choice

Sizing
The cowl measures about 157cm (62 inches) long by 18cm (7 inches) wide, before joining. One size fits most.

Tension
10cm/4in = 27 stitches after blocking. As this is an accessory rather than a fitted garment, tension can be rather flexible.
