This sock garland is a great way to practice making socks, and to use up any scraps of sock yarn you may have lying around. The socks are knitted toe-up with a short row heel so as to best show off the self-striping yarn. I chose to string my mini socks together with little clothespins to use as a decoration, but you could also add yarn loops to the back and hang them as ornaments.

Yarn: The garland was knit using a self-striping Frankensocks Kit of Pax Sock Yarn from Havirland Hand-Dyed Yarn. The kit contains 10 10-gram mini skeins, approx. 400 yards in total. You can also use whatever scraps of sock yarn you happen to have lying around. One sock uses about 20 yards of sock or fingering weight yarn.

Needles: US size 1 dpns

Gauge: Not terribly important, as no one will be wearing these socks. Mine was about 7sts/inch.
