I made these last year for some fall garland. Pumpkins are knit in the round and the texture is created by a seed stitch Rib. They aren’t quite beginner friendly but should be easy for a novice I think.

You need a worsted yarn and US 6 dpns, but could use small or slightly larger to adjust the sizing.
