Miniature Crocheted Teddy Bear Pattern #2
MATERIALS: Any type of yarn and hook size can be used. Listed below are what I used for the bears featured on the front cover.
GRAY BEAR
Cotton Eyelash Yarn
Size 12 Steel Crochet Hook
4mm Black Onyx Bead for Eyes
1/2” disk/cotter pin assembly
SMALL BROWN BEAR
Acrylic Punch Thread
Size 12 Steel Crochet Hook
3mm Black Onyx Beads for Eyes
1/4” disk/cotter pin assembly
DARK BROWN BEAR
Beary Plush Eyelash Yarn
Size 11 Steel Crochet Hook
5mm Black Onyx Beads for Eyes
5/8” disk/cotter pin assembly
TAN BEAR
Cotton Chenille Yarn
Size 11 Steel Crochet Hook
5mm Black Onyx Beads for Eyes
5/8” disk/cotter pin assembly
WHITE BEAR
Rayon Eyelash Yarn
Size 12 Crochet Hook
5 mm Black Onyx Beads for Eyes
1/2” disk/cotter pin assembly
Cotton stuffing was used for filling the bears in all cases as it packs well and gives a firmer feel to body, head and limbs.
Embroidery thread was used for noses, mouths and to define “fingers” and “toes”.
I use black waxed beading thread to attach the eyes and waxed dental floss for jointing arms and legs. Both can be pulled tighter without breaking and knots don‘t slip..
