Miniature Guinea Pig
This is an original crochet pattern to make a miniature Guinea Pig with a Christmas hat and blanket.
The guinea pig made with this pattern is small enough to hide in your bag/purse without your husband/friend knowing!
The pattern is written in english (US terms) and is suitable for beginner crocheters. The instructions are detailed and easy to follow if you know the basic stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi (work single crochet in a spiral, increase and decrease).
To make this miniature Guinea Pig you will need:
- Ecru wool (I used DMC Medici);
- DMC Cordonnet tatting thread “Christmas Red” and “Christmas Green”;
- One strand of black thread for the eyes and nose, one strand of pink for the legs. (I stitched the eyes and legs with French Knots but if you prefer you can use 2 tiny black onyx round beads 1mm for the eyes and pink beads for the legs) and one strand white for the bow of the blanket;
- Hook: 0,8 mm (USA #11);
- Sewing needle;
- Polyester fiberfill;
- Small tweezers or a toothpick for stuffing.
If you use the same thread and hook I used, the size of the guinea pig will be 8mm tall and 15mm long.
But you can use worsted weight yarn and make it bigger.
I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
