Miniature Pony
This pattern is written using US crochet terminology. It uses basic stitches but due to the small size is recommended for advanced beginner skill level and above. The ears are best crocheted directly onto the head, which can also be tricky for a beginner, though they can be made separately and then sewn on. The yarn type is not important so long as you use a hook small enough to not leave any gaps. The samples were made using Stylecraft Special DK yarn and a 3.25mm hook. You will only need a small amount of yarn, stuffing and either safety eyes (I used 7.5mm eyes), small buttons or yarn or thread to embroider the eyes. The legs on the samples were thread jointed. They can alternatively be sewn in fixed positions. The head, body and legs are worked as a continuous spiral. A stitch marker or scrap of yarn will help you keep your place.
