Minimalist Vest is a seamless vest that is worked flat top-down with German short rows to shape the shoulders. Below armhole shaping, the front pieces and the back are joined to be worked flat to the hem while shaping continues for gradually widening fronts. Armhole details are worked into the pattern so there is no need to pick up stitches to complete armhole finishing. Choose ties or a button and afterthought buttonhole to complete the front. Photo tutorials on the ties and afterthought buttonhole are provided.

NEEDLES

One 3.25 mm / US 3 circular needle, 60 cm / 24” or longer. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
One JPN 4/0-6/0 (2.5-3.5 mm) or C/2-E/4 crochet hook for making front ties. Use a size that matches your yarn to produce a crochet chain with even tension.

GAUGE (after blocking)

24 sts and 30 rows = 10 cm / 4” in Stockinette stitch with 3.25 mm / US 3 needle

NOTIONS

Removable stitch markers, stitch markers, stitch holder or waste yarn for holding stitches, tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Optional: one 6 mm / ¼” diameter button, if adding a button instead of ties to the front.

Minimalist Vest はとじはぎなく編むベスト。往復編みでトップダウンに編み、ドイツ式引返し編みで肩下がりを作ります。袖ぐりの増し目をした後は前と後ろ身頃をつなげ、前身頃の幅を広げながら、裾まで往復編みします。袖ぐりの縁の模様はパターンに含まれているため、袖ぐりから拾い目をして仕上げをする必要はありません。リボン留めまたは無理穴のボタン留めを選び、前身頃を完成させます。リボンと無理穴のボタンホールの作り方は写真チュートリアルを掲載しています。

Minimalist Vest 是一件不需縫合的背心，由上往下平織，以德式短行構造出肩部，至完成腋下後，連接前片及後片，來回平織至下襬，並持續在前襟加針。編織時一併織作袖洞邊緣，因此無需另外挑針。可依個人喜好選擇綁帶或鈕扣，選擇鈕釦者，完成背心後在前片另作釦眼。織圖包含繩帶及事後開釦眼的照片教學。
