Gauge is not important for this project. The finished size of this minion is approximately 6 inches tall depending on the size of yarn and the size of hooks you use.

You can use what ever size hook you prefer as long as the stitches are tight enough that the stuffing doesn’t show through the stitches. I use a size E hook for most of my amigurami projects when using worsted weight (size 4) yarn.

If you want to make this minion even smaller, you can use baby weight (size 3) yarn and smaller hooks.
