A perfect project for sock yarn leftovers, this rectangular shawl was inspired by the look of a stained glass window set in a stone wall. The Minster Wrap is worked in modules by picking up stitches along the finished sections as you go. Several techniques and stitch patterns are employed to create the finished image.

The sample is shown in the yarns listed above, but feel free to substitute any relatively smooth fingering weight yarn. Contrast a quiet frame color with a riot of variegated or solid colors in the central section - or go tone on tone for a more subtle look.

When working the domino squares, I highly recommend weaving in ends as you go, this will save a lot of work later. A short video tutorial for how to do this, can be found here.

Yardage needed:
About 1100 yards/1005 meters of main color yarn.
About 500 yards/460 meters of contrast color yarn.
(Actual yardage may vary substantially depending on gauge and stitch numbers.)
