Mint Julep is designed to be a quick and easy knit. It is suitable for even first time sock knitters with an easily memorized stitch pattern, no grafting or seams, simplified fleegle-inspired heel requiring no picking up of gusset stitches, no gaps to close, and easy customization for fit.

The broken rib stitch pattern adds texture and improves fit but is subtle enough to work well with even heavily-patterned sock yarns. Yardage ranges from about 50-60 yards for a child’s small ankle sock to 500 for adult xxl mid-calf height. Sample shown is child’s small in Paton’s Kroy Sock, but any fingering weight sock yarn will be suitable.

My thanks to Ravelry members firemaplegirl and GroovyNoodles for their help in test-knitting and editing this pattern!
