The initial look of this hat was inspired by hat patterns I had seen online. I loved the look but wanted to incorporate it into a design that was already in my head. This is the result.

I prefer to make the band after the hat is completed. However if you have a ‘go to’ hat band preference you can change it. Just make sure you are able to get 72 SC (or a multiple of 4).

In my pattern I have included the link to the designers website for the style of hat band I used. There is a video tutorial that shows how the band is attached. The great thing about attaching the band at the end is that you can make the band longer if needed or if you decide you want to fold it over.
