Do you know Aubrac? It’s a high plateau in the most western part of the Lozère, in France. This region is well-known for its landscapes, its food and, of course, for its wonderful breed of cow.

Mirabelle is one of these Aubrac cows. With her nice horns, her long eyelashes, and her wonderful fringe, she’s one of the prettiest cattle you’ve ever seen ♥

RECOMMENDED LEVEL AND KNOWLEDGE NEEDED

I wrote Binky’s pattern for experts and mid-level crocheters.

If you’re a beginner, you can give it a try, but I advise you to begin by something less complicated, like Otto the rhino, Tchip the little chick…

Nevertheless, if you really wanna make Mirabelle, I think you can, because I wrote very clear explications and inserted as many pictures as I could to help you.

MATERIAL

To crochet this adorable cow, you’ll need :

• 100% cotton fingering weight thread (for 3 mm hook) in the following colours: brick red (≈35g), ecru (≈20g), dark gray (≈15g), beige (≈5g), white (≈5g), black (≈5g), blue (or any color of your choice) (≈5g)
• 100% cotton size 5 thread (for 1,75 mm hook), in yellow (≈5g)
• 100% acrylic sport weight yarn (for 4 mm hook) in brick red (≈5g)
• 1 length of black embroidery thread (≈50cm), 1 length of ecru embroidery thread (≈1m) and 1 length of black sewing thread (≈50 cm)
• a 1.75mm and a 3 mm hook
• Polyester fiberfill, more or less (≈) 50g
• 8 mm black safety eyes (x 2)
• yarn needle (wide eye and blunt point), darning needle (wide eye and sharp point), and sewing needle (small eye and sharp point)
• Card or metal brush (such as a pet brush)

With these materials, Mirabelle measures 10 x 5 x 10 cm.

• Rembourrage synthétique en fibres de polyester (≈) 50g
• Une paire d’yeux sécurisés, noirs, de 8 mm de diamètre
• Une aiguille à laine (gros chas et bout arrondi), une aiguille à repriser (gros chas et bout pointu), et une aiguille à coudre (petit chas et bout pointu)
• Une carde ou une brosse à picots métalliques (comme celle pour animaux)

Avec ces références, Mirabelle mesure 10 x 5 x 10 cm.
