Mirjami is an over-sized cardigan knitted from the top down. It has an easy-to-memorize stitch pattern running all over the garment. The stitch pattern imitates cables but doesn’t include any cable twists. It is created using simple knit and purl sts combined with increases and decreases.

The upper back is knitted flat and shaped with short rows. Then, sts are picked up for fronts. All pieces are joined together at the underarm level and the cardigan is knitted flat towards the hem. The hem is then finished with a wide ribbing and the tubular bind-off method.

Sleeve sts are then picked up from the armholes and sleeves are knitted in a round. The same cable-like st pattern is repeating itself on the sleeves and they are also finished with a wide cuff ribbing. The cardigan is then finished with a double-knitted button band and 4 buttons.
