I was asked to design a free pattern by Craftsy, for the launch of their Cloudborn Fibers in 2015 - they gave me 2 colors and this is the result.

The cowl is edged with a mosaic pattern and is a mirror repeat but the color sequence swaps on the mirrored section – light color background one half, dark color background the other. This is a turtle neck style design that sits on the shoulders, with enough depth to pull up around your ears and cheeks when heading out in the chilly wind of winter. It will show case beautifully, draped and folded in the neck of a jacket or as a stand alone statement accessory.

Mosaic knitting technique – simple and stunning!
ABOUT MOSAIC KNITTING AND WHY IT’S SO EASY TO DO!
If you have never worked with color before, mosaic knitting is a very easy introduction to adding 2 colors without having to actually juggle 2 colors across a row at once. With this, your tension is much easier to manage and you knit only 1 color at a time. The pattern comes from slipping stitches in the previous color as you knit the second strip of color. As you can see, it creates a dramatic feature to a piece.
