The socks are worked in the round from the top down. Instructions are given for working the socks on 4 or 5 double pointed needles. However, the pattern can easily be adapted for knitting on 2 circular needles, or on 1 circular needle, using magic loop.

Miscanthus sinensis species of flowering or ornamental grasses originated throughout Asia, but are now a common staple in North American gardens. We started collecting them fairly recently. They come in a variety of colours and forms. Many change colour late in the autumn and we leave them throughout the winter, so we can enjoy them longer. Some are red, green, and, late in the season, often change to the colour of ripened wheat.

Both charts as well as written instructions are included.
