This is based on the antique Victorian Miser Bags although I didn’t attach the chains in a way that makes the bag difficult to open as the original miser bags were made but just attached them on the outside. The bag is coin purse size and I thought it was too small to do it the original way. There are tons of vintage and antique purse patterns that use the chains attached to the plastic ring and I just thought it was pretty enough to be a necklace. Add your own beads and buttons for all kinds of different looks. I would suggest using a sturdy yarn, like something with some nylon, if you want the bag to be functional.
