Miss Argyle is the results of my love for classic children wear (especially cardigans) that can be treasured for ages. The Argyle pattern is usually worked using many colors, which often involves lots of work, many loose ends to weave in, and (in my experience) a bit of struggle.
The Argyle-inspired lace-pattern is SO much easier….

Construction
The cardigan is worked without seams and bottom-up. The lower body is worked back and forth to underarms, the sleeves are worked in the round to underarms. Lower body and sleeves are joined and upper body is worked back and forth with raglan decreases. Sts are picked up for the neck-edging, button-band and buttonhole-band. Underarm sts could either be seamed, grafted or worked together using the 3-needle bind-off method.

Sizes:
The pattern gives 6 different sizes: 1year - 18 months, 18 months - 2 years, 2 - 3 years, 4 years, 5 years, 6 - 7 years. The age given for each size is approximate, as children differs much individually. A schematic with all measurements is given in the pattern. I advise that you measure the child and/or a favorite cardigan before deciding upon which size to work.

Materials
Yarn: I used Iloyarns “Superfine 3/11” to work the cardigan. This fingering weight yarn comes in balls of 50gr/1.76 oz and 183m/200yards. You will need 2/2/3/3/4/4 balls of this specific yarn to work the cardigan. This yarn is not common outside Scandinavia, but you could easily choose another fingering weight yarn that knits up to gauge.
Needles: A circular needle 3mm/US2.5 to work the lower and upper body. A set of dpns (or a circular needle, if working the magic loop), 3mm/US2.5 to work the sleeves. A pair of straight needles (or the circular needle) 3mm/US2.5 to work the neck-edge, the button-band and the buttonhole-band.
