A stunning modern baktus will add a finished look to your wardrobe. Its texture is engaging, enticing, somewhat provocative and won’t bore you.
What is a baktus? It is a triangular scarf which has a dull corner (worn in front), originally knitted from one end to another. However, the description changed with time. Nowadays, baktus could also be a small shawl worn triangular in front.
You might ask why “Moth”? The answer is simple! When I crocheted first several rows in grey, it looked like a moth and I thought that was it!

This crochet pattern has been tech edited and tested for clarity and accuracy.

Materials:

• Yarn
- Approximately 1100 yds / 1006 m of any Fine (#2) or DK (#3) weight yarn. You may use any type and weight of yarn, but note that your project will look different.
- For the grey Baktus pictured in this pattern, I used about 3.5 skeins of Premier Cotton Fair, #2, Fine weight (52% Cotton, 48% Acrylic; 317 yds/290 m per 3.5 oz/100 g). (P.S. I prefer the Premier Cotton Fair since it is much softer and less weaving.)
- For the yellow Baktus pictured in this pattern, I used about 7.5 skeins of Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK, #3, DK weight (100% Cotton; 137 yds/125 m per 1.8 oz/51 g).
• 3.5 mm/E-4 hook or the one which matches your yarn
