Miss Norway Hat

A hat you pretty much decide yourself if you want it to be a sloughy or a fit version. You also decide if to use same yarn or two yarns for rib and hat.
I have both used one type of yarn for the rib and another for the hat itself and sample with one yarn both for rib and body of hat.
The first sample I knitted, I used a mohair yarn that was really hairy, the pink one on picture. The next one I used a mohair/silk yarn that also was hairy but showed the stitch pattern better.
After knitting the third sample with same yarn both in rib and body, I understood I needed to add more increasing to get the volume in body I wanted.
My advice is to use a yarn that is not too hairy to show the stitch definition best and if you use a hairy yarn, follow the smallest size listed in pattern.
If you use same yarn for rib and body, follow the largest size listed to get volume in body.

The pattern has both written and charted options to follow.
The grey sample has a repeat in chart, 5 1/2 times, the pink one has 3,5 repeat.
Pattern has also chart for decreasing the top of hat.

The very last part of hat and finishing is not charted, only written in text.

Gouge for rib 22 stitches = 10 cm/4 “
Needle 3.5 mm for rib (40 cm long circular), 4.0 mm for hat(40-60 cm long circular)
Stitch marker

For the grey sample I used Jârbo, Llama/Silk, grey colour for rib and Sandnes Mohair/Silk, grey.
For the pink sample I used Mor Aase Superwash and Viking of Norway Alpaca Maya.

I am really happy if you choose to knit one of my patterns. Please give me a note so I can ask to use pictures on pattern page.
