You must do something to make the world more beautiful”
~Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney

This lovely yarn found its way into my life during a dark season. Nothing was going right, the days were long, the sun was hiding and joy was not to be found. Somewhere in the midst of those days, my children picked up Miss Rumphius off the shelf for Circle Time, and as we snuggled in to read this delightful picture book, the words started to soften my heart. It wasn’t up to them to make my life more beautiful, but rather, I needed to find a way to make the world more beautiful. As it would happen, this skein of yarn that I ordered in an attempt to brighten my mood (retail therapy anyone?) arrived at just the right time, and what should be attached to the twine string on the brown paper packaging, but the most adorable little pack of lupine seeds. Suddenly I had found my something to make the world more beautiful- this lovely shawl design in honor of Miss Rumphius. I encourage you to make your world more beautiful and to knit this shawl for someone who needs a little light and love in their dark world.
