Missi's Flowers
I drew these minimalist flowers when I was designing “Missi the Horse”. Afterwards, I decided they made a nice design on their own. I have anticipated the need for it to be used like my other large squares so for each technique (interlocking crochet & overlay mosaic crochet) I’ve created a full pattern as a large square and a full pattern as the repeatable motif.
Matching blanket: Missi the Horse
As with all of my patterns, you have the option of using the interlocking crochet technique or the overlay mosaic crochet technique. This design has also been written up as a large square or a repeatable section.
- interlocking crochet square (chart 81 x 81)
- interlocking crochet repeatable motif (chart 43 x 35)
- overlay mosaic crochet square (chart 79 x 79)
- overlay mosaic crochet repeatable motif (chart 39 x 31)
As always, I am so grateful for my testers. My team for this pattern included Heather Passmore, Just_Duckie_Crochet, Linda Bakker, & Whimwitch.
The Locked Filet Mesh (LFM) interlocking crochet method uses only chain spaces and double crochets to create a mesh; two colors are worked alternately which creates the pattern.
Mosaic crochet uses single crochet and double crochet stitches. The double crochet stitches cover some of the other color’s single crochet stitches to create the design. My patterns instruct you to cut your yarn at the end of each row. The back is striped but often gives a faint impression of the pattern on the front (sort of like illusion knitting). See an example here.
I have YouTube tutorials available for both crochet methods! Follow this link to get to my YouTube channel and find my other social links.
